Are you going to INTERSCHUTZ, the world's leading international trade for rescue, fire prevention, disaster relief, safety and security, in Leipzig from June 7 through 12, 2010? MAN is and the Bavarian truck maker will have all sorts of goodies on show from its comprehensive portfolio of fire-fighting products from 7.49-44 tonnes GVW. Six trucks are being presented on the MAN stand with a further 35 more MAN vehicles on bodybuilders' stands. MAN's TGL, TGM and TGS as well as TGX ranges provide the basis for various fire-trucks used throughout the world, while for the special challenges posed by aircraft fire-fighting, there's the mighty SX range with its powerful engines up to 1,000hp. And here's an 8x8 SX in action for Biglorryblog!

The SX range features a box-body frame, coil suspension, permanent all-wheel drive and the choice of 8x8 or 6x6 chassis with the latter powered by MAN's V8 diesel engine. Globally, around 45 civil international airports entrust approximately 70 four-axle MAN SX 43.1000 8x8 with their fire-fighting duties.

For slightly more 'normal' fire-fighting duties there's of course the crew-cabbed TGL or TGM chassis--a neat package...

And how about this TGS aerial pumper? Rather strange configuration..is it another airport fire truck? Or is the stuff behind it a clue?
