Talking of futuristic trucks BLB reglar Tim Cotton has sent me this and he says: "Brian, I found this in a folder of stuff I kept. It's from TRUCK March 1982. I saw the Foden concept truck on Biglorryblog recently and I thought of these. The headline reads: "Top design students from the Royal College of Art have been working for TRUCK. We gave them a brief for a delivery vehicle and then let their imaginations loose for 6 weeks." And click through gere to see what they came up with!

The result was a rather interesting platform truck which not only carried indvidual cargo pods but also a module for extra crew members...

They even made a scale model of it which clearly shows the crew and cargo modules demounted..

It appeared to have a conventional front engine design...

This shows a variation on the theme with an extnded crew cab. I think the designer was somebody called Gunak? Does anyone know what happened to them? Did they end up realissing their dream as an automtive designer? Would be nice to get a comment or e-mail from them if they did!
