Gary crosses India on a Royal Enfield motorbike...don't look down says Biglorryblog!
This offering from Biglorryblog man downunder Gary Richards, the national manager for product management and promotion for both Mack and Volvo (what a great job) has been kicking around on my desktop for a while so my apologies to Gary for the delay. Anyroasdup he says: "Hi Brian, As promised, here is just a taste on trucking, and biking, in India!"
Gary continues: "I thought these pics might add to Will's drive to Agra...any road trip in India is guaranteed to keep your heart on the governor!"
...especially when you've got roads like this
And the rush hour traffic too!
As for the roadside workers, well words escape me says BLB. Meanwhile Gary explains: "Had the great and, initially scary, pleasure to travel through Northern India on a Royal Enfield in 2004...The sights, sounds and aromas are just fantastic. " And click through here for the full-on photo tour from Gary!
"I've attached a few labels to the pics," says Gary, "Might be a bit much to blog - but hard to make the experience any shorter !!" Well not a bit of it GR and here are the pictures...including a bit of a tight sequeeze...garrnnnn...you could get a bus through there! And if the bloke on the left moved over, there'd be plenty of room.
'Road King'? You've got to be kidding mate! And just look at that lazy cow too! Or should that be Holy Cow?
The next generation Leyland Comet perhaps?
Fully loaded, 150hp at 18,000ft...says Gary. Must habe been a bit of a gasper mate!
And to prove he went up there here's Gary's trusty steed...a Royal Enfield (which I assume was a local one).
God is one..and the owner of a smart Tata too....
Great scenery...as long as you don't look down.
Then you've got to put up with the traff
ic jams ...when they close the road...These two met head-on from the looks of it..
Plenty of passing room..
Six axle whoppa....
Well you can't say they didn't tell you...
Crash barriers...who needs crash barriers...? If you go off the edge here it's 12,000ft straight down we won't be looking for you...
And for a quick nap, sling a hammock under your trailer...gtreat stuff Gary thanks.
