KN Drinks Logistics (KNDL) has stepped up security following a substantial theft of alcohol last month at its Barton Dock, Trafford Park, Manchester site.
A spokeswoman for KNDL, tells CM: "As a result of this incident, extra security measures have been put in place at Trafford Park and across the national KNDL network. These include the compulsory provision of additional photographic identification from all drivers reporting to company sites for collection of loads. Additional CCTV images will also be recorded of all drivers reporting to the site gatehouses."
The firm says it is conducting internal investigations, while CCTV footage has been passed on to the police for analysis.
Greater Manchester Police are searching for a lorry driver who committed thefts of products by deception, from the drinks logistics company on Friday 14 May at 6.47pm.
He was purporting to work for a sub-contractor and driving a plain white twin-axle DAF tractor unit (with a believed cloned plate). The constabulary says he quoted the correct load number and was granted access, stealing a "substantial" haul, including cases of Kronenbourg and Strongbow.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
