David Hathaway Transport increases coverage with Swindon satellite depot
Bristol-based David Hathaway Transport has completed work on its depot in Swindon, allowing it to increase its coverage of the South.
Around 3,500 pallet spaces have been created at the Royal Wootton Bassett site, which was formerly operated by a banana supplier before the haulier acquired it in March last year.
Warehouse manager Buddy Earp, who oversees the company’s warehouse operations across two sites, said all of the equipment including drying rooms used by the banana supplier have been stripped out to create space for a racking system.
The latest addition to its network has allowed it to cover more areas in London and Berkshire and it runs “about a dozen” vehicles out of the site, Earp added.
The haulier also operates a warehouse with space for 9,500 pallets in Yate, Bristol, for which it is authorised to run 64 vehicles and 86 trailers from.
