Quick Questions: Commercial Motor meets Scott Pagano, technical sales manager, Crick Trailers

Crick Trailers

RB: What is your favourite holiday destination?
SP: Italy, for the culture, the history, architecture and amazing food and wine.

RB: What car do you drive?
SP: A 2016 VW Passat estate.

RB: What are your hobbies?
SP: I coach an Under-16 rugby team from Towcester. The boys are a fantastic group who really understand the ethos of team work.

RB: How did you get into the industry?
SP: Working at BRS and Hendrickson as a vehicle technician. I actually had no plan to come back into the transport industry, as I had been out of it for a while. However, I was approached by a recruitment agency who introduced me to George Dennison, the founder of Dennison trailers. George introduced me to some of the fantastic products Dennison manufactures, like the sliding bogie tipper and the range of tractor carriers. He explained about the idea of opening a sales outlet for the range of specialist trailers manufactured by Dennison. I was very excited about the sliding bogie tipper trailer in particular as it is unique in the market and just made sense to me. What got me back into the industry was the product and George’s enthusiasm for trailers.

RB: How would you encourage more young people into the industry?
SP: Let people know there are so many different sectors and opportunities within the transport industry. I truly believe there is a job or career to suit most people.

RB: What is the outlook for your sector of the market in the next 12 months?
SP: We are very focused on the construction/infrastructure industry which is expanding at a massive rate, with new opportunities opening up to supply the hauliers servicing the major road and building projects in the UK with new trailers. Our business is growing very well, and stocking new specialist trailers gives us a huge advantage over most of the competition. We will be exhibiting at Tip-ex Tank-ex 2017.
