MKF Transport facing winding up petition
Kibworth Harcourt, Leicester-registered vehicle operator MKF Transport Ltd had a winding-up petition lodged against it by creditor United Pallet Network (UK) earlier this month.
The petition was considered at a court hearing on 23 February but judgement in the matter has been postponed to 14 March, the Bankruptcy and Companies High Court subsequently confirmed.
The company, whose sole director and shareholder is listed as Kevin Francis Fleming, has been operating under a company voluntary arrangement since July last year.
Fleming, who is also shown as a director of Luton-based non-limited company MKF Transport, which has a licence for eight vehicles and four trailers, could not be reached for comment.
A man answering the phone at MKF Transport’s Luton site, however, who preferred not to identify himself, told Commercialmotor.com before the hearing that the firm was no longer taking on any further business.
Companies House records show that Fleming is a former director of five dissolved limited companies including Euro Fridge Logistics, MKF Dunstable and K Fleming (Contract Distribution).
UPN has not said why it decided to issue the winding-up petition at this time or how much it is owed.
