Paccar chief executive gets honorary knighthood

Mark Pigott, chief executive at Daf parent company Paccar, has been awarded an honorary knighthood.

Pigott OBE is chairman and chief executive at Paccar, the firm that designs and manufactures Daf trucks in Europe, Kenworth trucks in North America and Australia, and Peterbilt in the United States and Canada. He is also the ex-MD of Foden trucks.

From October 1988 to December 1989, Pigott served as vice president at Paccar before becoming senior vice president in January 1990. He then took up the role as executive vice president from 1993 to 1995, when he became vice chairman of the company. He has held his current position since January 1997.

In 2008 he donated an undisclosed sum towards the fund used to renovate St Paul’s Cathedral and has also helped fund the Royal Shakespeare Company, the British Library,  the National Gallery and Cambridge University.

Paccar acquired Daf in 1996.
