Speed Welshpool to move to new depot to match business growth
Speed Welshpool is spending £150,000 on a new depot at a 3.5 acre brownfield site at Buttington Quarry.
The Welshpool-based Palletways member will relocate in September to the site, which will house to storage buildings providing stirage for 2,000 pallets and 40,000ft² of warehousing.
Phil Edwards, MD of Speed Welshpool, said: "The development of this new depot will enable us to greatly enhance the efficiency and capacity of our distribution service, enabling us to provide an improved service to businesses across Mid-Wales and Shropshire."
"As part of the Palletways network, the new facilities will enable us to collect consignments from loca business later in the day, while still offering next day delivery across Europe, getting the goods to market faster than ever before," he added.
Speed has grown its business through subbie work and compared with 10 staff in 2010 now employs 40, with plans to take more on in the coming year.
