Transervice Express opens training firm
Transervice Express Transport is launching a company that aims to offer on-site training for HGV drivers, transport, warehouse and logistics staff, and HGV Trailblazer apprentices.
The company, known as Transervice Logistics Training, will operate from the firm’s headquarters in West Bromwich. It will be run by sales director Darren Parker, who was business development manager at Targeted Training Projects.
Parker said: “We have excellent working relationships with many employers in the Midlands and are keen to ensure we continue to develop strong working links in the industry by providing a solution for transport training and recruitment needs.”
The first training courses will begin in February, he added. “We are in the process of gaining accreditation to deliver a range of logistics training programmes including: ADR, Driver CPC, first aid, forklift truck, HGV rigid and articulated, and transport manager CPC, from our training centre in West Bromwich or from customer premises.
“Our approach is to provide cost-effective, quality training while identifying a structured training plan for our customers.”
Transervice Express MD Paul Johnson said: “We’ve had a great response so far. Darren has been in training all his working life and brings a wealth of experience.”
The training company will address the lack of experience in newly qualified HGV drivers.
“Show most new drivers an 18-tonner and they go pale,” said Johnson. “We will give extra on-site training in a range of vehicles so they have the ability to drive the vehicles hauliers need them to.”
