Federal-Mogul extends UK distribution of OE-quality brake brand Beral
Partnership with Intertruck provides operators and workshops with easy access to high performing brake products Federal-Mogul is extending distribution of its Beral range of OE-quality brake products to commercial vehicle customers across the UK. Intertruck has been chosen as the nationwide distributor of Beral truck and bus brake pads, discs and linings. With strong Original Equipment heritage, Beral products are developed to meet the exacting standards set by vehicle manufacturers and operators, delivering optimum braking performance. UK customers will now be able to source the same high quality brakes for commercial vehicles through Intertruck's distribution centres across the UK. "Beral is specified extensively throughout Europe and has a reputation for its high quality and unrivalled performance and we are excited to be able to further extend this to UK operators," said Jonathan Allen Federal-Mogul's field marketing manager. "Beral brake products consistently outperform their competitors in benchmarking tests. Intertruck customers will be equipping their vehicles with brakes that offer the best possible performance and safety." In tests conducted by Federal-Mogul, vehicles equipped with Beral brake pads achieved stopping distances that were more than 15.5 metres or 39% better than those fitted with competitor products. The difference in stopping distance is approximately equivalent to the length of a standard articulated trailer. Other benchmarking tests which examined wear rates indicate that Beral brake pads cause significantly less disc wear than its nearest competitors. Federal-Mogul constructs its Beral brake products using OE-quality material formulations, designing them specifically for individual vehicle braking systems. The result is consistent braking performance under all temperatures and conditions that delivers the best possible combination of performance, comfort and response. Amongst the Beral products now available in the UK are ProTec S advanced brake pads, developed in partnership with brake caliper manufacturer, Knorr-Bremse. These pads use a pre-welded caliper spring that retains it in position, ensuring it is fitted correctly. The spring makes replacing brake pads quicker and safer and also improves wear and noise. Federal-Mogul's Beral brake lining range covers more than 98% of the vehicle parc with more than 450 individual part numbers. The OE-quality friction materials available for linings cover a wide range of applications and duty cycles to ensure the best performance for each vehicle. "Intertruck and Federal-Mogul have been key partners for many years; all of our brake reline centres are fully compliant to the Federal-Mogul Gold Standard Accreditation scheme," said Ed Pedder, Major Accounts General Manager of Intertruck.
