A car transporter manufacturer from Essex is reducing customer's running costs by decreasing tyre wear and fuel costs.

Hunwick Engineering Ltd in Halstead has invested in a Haweka Axis200 wheel aligner with trailer kit to enable them to ensure the alignment on new trailers is accurate before they leave the factory.

The car transporter manufacturer purchased the aligner from Haweka, the UK's main supplier of commercial wheel alignment and wheel balancing accessories, after seeing a demonstration of the equipment in their workshop.

The Axis200 is the leading alignment system in the UK, taking less than 10 minutes to accurately measure every angle on a truck in the as driven position - there is no need to lift the vehicle. The alignment system can be used on twin steer, rigid, semi-trailers and buses.

Martyn Wood, Technical Director at Hunwick's said:"Poor wheel alignment increases tyre drag on the road wasting rubber and increasing fuel use. By aligning the wheels and axles the trailer becomes more streamlined and drives as we intended. The Axis200 was specially adapted for our range of trailers and is used at least three times a week."
Martyn went on to say "the aligner is easy to use and has reduced idle time and costs in the workshops waiting for third parties to arrive to check tracking."

When a trailers axle's are correctly aligned, tyre life is extended, fuel consumption is improved (just one degree of misalignment can increase fuel consumption by 5%). Emissions are also reduced, there is less wear and tear on mechanical components and tyres are less likely to overheat.

Hunwick Engineering Ltd is the premier supplier of car transporters in the UK. Meeting the unique needs of the customer is the main trademark of Hunwicks - the Axis200 from Haweka UK is helping them do this.
