Interior Warmth Assured for Ambulances in the North West
Webasto is a world leader in the design and production of advanced automotive heating systems. Their Air Top range of diesel fuelled, blown air supplementary heaters is a popular choice to ensure a warm interior for many of the country's ambulance services.
North West Ambulance Service fits Webasto interior heaters to all their ambulances, the latest examples being 80 Patient Transport Vehicles, based on the new style Renault LWB Master, which will be fitted with Air Top 3900 EVO systems, installed by specialist ambulance designers and builders Oughtred & Harrison (Facilities) Ltd of Goole.
Recent previous contracts have included the supply of 62 Renault Master stretcher vehicles, plus a further 22 Renault-based "sitter" Patient Transfer vehicles.
Sean Dineen is the Fleet Engineer (Support) for NWAS, based at Salford Ambulance Workshop. His prime concern is to ensure the vehicles he is responsible for provide the most comfortable environment for patient transport possible, whatever the weather. Commenting on the latest vehicles to join the NWAS fleet Sean said:
"Webasto has been our chosen supplier of interior heaters for over 8 years. We know we can rely on their products to perform efficiently and professionally. The company always meets our timetable for delivery and their nationwide 24/7 repair and maintenance service provides additional peace of mind, as in case of any problems one phone call will scramble a mobile engineer to be in attendance either at our premises or on the roadside."
