East Midlands haulier and tipper operator, Bowring Transport, has added 10 new MAN trucks to its general haulage and 'muck-shift' fleets - taking the total of MAN vehicles to 60 for the Warsop-based operation.

Four TGS 35.400 8x4 'muck-away' tippers with extended 'M' day cabs join Bowring's 20-strong MAN tipper fleet on muck-shifting and road-planing duties. The eight-wheelers come with Thompson muck-away bodies and Edbro tipping gear.

Six TGX 26.440 6x2 tractors with XLX cabs are already in service on liquid waste-transfer tanker operations at WhitKirk Waste Solutions, one of seven Bowring Transport member companies. All new vehicles come with comprehensive three-year MAN warranties.

"For muck-away work, MAN builds a tough, no-nonsense eight-wheeler," said Managing Director, David Bowring, "and it certainly does the job. In fact, it's just about the best 8x4 on the market Our drivers are happy, and residuals are very good too. We think we're running the right truck."

"We're pleased there's no AdBlue to worry about, too," he said, "we see it as an operational constraint, and we'll choose to run without it for as long as possible."

Bowring Transport was originally an ERF operator with a 40-year association with the Great British truck manufacturer. Today, the company is a thriving business with dedicated general haulage, livestock, motorway maintenance and muckaway operations. Its Whitkirk Waste Solutions operation has a 20-MAN truck fleet in its own right.
