SITA UK choose Eminox CRT® to comply with new London LEZ Phase 4 requirements
SITA UK is a leading recycling and waste resource management company that provides environmentally responsible and innovative waste solutions across the UK. SITA UK has chosen Eminox's market-leading CRT® technology to upgrade 161 vehicles from their range of Scania, Daf, Dennis, Volvo and Mercedes fleet to meet the new London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) requirements. From 3rd January 2012, Phase 4 of the London LEZ will set a tougher standard of Euro 4 particulate matter (PM) for trucks over 3.5 tonnes. SITA UK has a total fleet of 1,700 vehicles in the UK, 161 of which did not meet with the new LEZ Phase 4 requirements. Having previously fitted Eminox retrofit technology systems during the first phase of the London LEZ back in 2008, SITA UK has again turned to Eminox, choosing its CRT® product as the most cost-effective solution for providing their vehicle upgrades ahead of the forthcoming restrictions. All 161 vehicles were fitted at Eminox's London Customer Service Center, conveniently located just outside the Low Emission Zone, six miles from Heathrow, which allowed SITA UK minimal downtime and disruption to contracts. The Eminox CRT® is a full filtration DPF filter that achieves more than 90% particulate matter reduction and is approved to the new Transport for London (TfL) standards. Proven on a wide range of vehicles, the CRT® was the most popular choice for operators looking to retrofit their vehicles during the initial Phases of the LEZ.
