The latest VDO Digital Tachographs 1381 Rel. 1.4 not only complies with the new 1 minute rule (EU Regulation 1266/2009 but also allows mass memory data to be downloaded remotely via GPRS using the VDO DLD® download device.

Many vehicle operators are now taking advantage of the new improved VDO 1381 Rel.1.4 digital tachograph. By having the new digital tachograph installed operators can maximise the latest technological advances to increase fleet efficiency. For example the downloading of Driver Card and Digital Tachograph data remotely via GPRS.

One of the main features of the new Digital Tachograph is the driving time saved by drivers during the working day. The benefits of this can be especially felt during multiple drop operations.

Stan Robinson (Stafford) Ltd the National family logistics firm operate 160 Rigid and Artic units over 300 trailers, from four UK sites. They aim to reduce their carbon footprint and have introduced methods to become one of the most efficient fleets on the UK roads.

Stan Robinson have replaced their tachographs in 45 of their vehicles to the latest VDO 1381 Rel. 1.4 Digital tachograph as well as adding the Remote DLD (Download Device) system.

*Please note that the new 1 minute rule (EU Regulation 1266/2009) allows time saving benefits to be made but it is variable and depends on what type of operation the fleet is involved in.
