Selor Transport is marking its 25th anniversary in style with a new Darth Vader truck. The family-run business, based in Kent, runs a fleet of black and silver vehicles and the company’s tagline that features on its trucks is, "Welcome to the Dark Side.”
John Roles, CEO and founder of Selor Transport, said: "We wanted to commemorate this milestone with something big and the Darth Vader truck made perfect sense. This unique addition to our fleet is a celebration of our journey, innovation, and the unwavering commitment of our team over the past 25 years."
The custom truck features Darth Vader paintwork at the front and the sides of the cab are adorned with other Star Wars characters and space craft. The trailer it’s paired with has a Darth Maul portrait on the front too. The new flagship joins a fleet of vehicles ranging from 44-tonne tractor units down to small vans. The Darth Vader truck will be driven by Richard Gamble, a driver who’s been with the FORS Bronze accredited operator for 20 years.
To celebrate 25 years in business, Selor Transport hosted an anniversary event in January to unveil the new truck. The event featured speeches from instrumental figures in the company and gave attendees an opportunity to see the vehicle and its distinctive livery in the metal.
Selor Transport has long term contracts with a number of prominent customers such as Currys, Knowhow, DHL, XPO and B&Q. Alongside these agreements, the company offers general haulage services. Its vehicles are maintained and serviced at an in-house workshop, with regular six weekly inspection programmes.
In 2016 Selor Transport replicated to Gillingham Business Park. The 24 hour site provides good access to the M2 onto the M25 and M26 as well as Kent. Its Gillingham headquarters also houses 26,000 sq ft of warehousing.
