Supplied by Allports Group, Weaver Haulage has taken delivery of three Renault T520 High 6x2 pusher tractor units. The Range Ts are equipped with Gardner Denver blower equipment and will be put to work on bulk powder jobs in the Midlands and south of England.
Weaver Haulage director, Bradley Harvey, worked with sales manager, Jamie Watton and service manager, Chris Plant at Allports Group to get the right trucks for the company. Harvey said: “Since the pandemic, our work has doubled and the quick turnaround from the service team is crucial in running a slick operation. Although we have our own three-bay workshop that we use for older vehicles, the team at Allports is maintaining the latest additions.
“From initial discussions, to compiling a bespoke vehicle specification, all the way through to delivery, Jamie Watton has been first class. Chris at Allports in Stoke has been vital in making the service side work for us; he just gets it.”
The trucks are fitted with 13-litre engines with maximum torque of 2,550Nm from 990rpm to 1,400rpm. Externally, the T520 Highs have additional front and rear lights, light bars and roof-mounted twin air horns. The vehicles are also specified with optivision gear shifting which anticipates topography to get the most efficient gear shifts. This is combined with eco cruise control and optiroll to improve fuel efficiency.
Inside, drivers are treated to luxury seats, air conditioning, additional storage, a microwave and fridge. Harvey said: "Ensuring driver satisfaction is also essential for our operation’s success. Our drivers appreciate the layout of the new truck, praising the cab's size and spaciousness. The adjustable steering wheel position has been well-received, and the extra back lockers offer ample storage for extended trips.
“We are delighted with the new vehicles and service received and we look forward to working with both Allports and Renault Trucks as we expand our fleet in the future.”
Renault Trucks will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo, which takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh between 4-6 June. Registrations are now open, so book your free place now!
