Tanker specialist Crossland Tankers has launched a new slurry tanker in partnership with Vogelsang. The new tanker combines Crossland’s expertise with a Vogelsang VX rotary lobe pump.

Stephen McFerran, business development manager at Crossland Tankers, said: "We've tailored this tanker to be robust, reliable, and cost-effective, catering directly to the needs of our farming community. By utilising the Crossland slurry tanker, farmers can enhance efficiency and cut costs, especially in the face of rising fuel expenses."

The tanker offers a larger capacity to save operators time and money by moving more in a single load. Designed to improve fuel efficiency, the tank reduces operational costs and has longer maintenance intervals. Minimising downtime and maximising efficiency are key features that aim to save operators money over the lifespan of the tank.

Manufactured by Crossland in the UK, the tanks have certifications including ISO 9001, the pressure equipment directive, and European Whole Vehicle Type Approval.

Established over 35 years ago, Crossland Tankers operates two manufacturing plants in the UK. Its headquarters is based in Swatragh, Northern Ireland and its second site is located in Burnley. The company employs more than 130 people across both locations.

As well as slurry tankers, Crossland produces tankers for food, milk, chemicals, waste, bitumen and fire authorities. Tanks can be built to ADR, PED, PSR regulations and other international regulatory standards depending on the market the tanker is intended for. The company supplies tanks to the UK, Ireland, the EU and the Middle East.

Founded in 1929, the German company, Vogelsang, provides specialist solutions for agriculture, biogas, industry, transportation and wastewater. Its elastomer-coated rotary lobe pump was invented in 1970. Following years of development the product is now suitable for applications including biogas plants, sewage treatment plants, tankers in the agriculture sector and vacuum disposal for trains, buses and ships, amongst other industry solutions.
