Manheim Auction Services has announced its new Gloucester centre will host its first auction on Thursday 24 October. Customers can either attend in person or via Simulcast online to view more than 600 vans, trucks and plant machinery. Following this inaugural event at Manheim’s 9-acre Gloucester site, auctions will be held fortnightly.

Part of Cox Automotive, Manheim expects to offer around £6.5m worth of vans, trucks and plant equipment from 48 vendors. Dealer and fleet companies including the likes of Novuna, Arval, Zenith, VWFS, Hendy, Enterprise, DPD, Avis, Lombard will enter their vehicles into the auction. Potential bidders will have an opportunity to view all vehicles before the sale begins.

Matthew Davock, director of Commercial Vehicles for Manheim said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by positive feedback from our customers since we announced the opening of Gloucester as a new dedicated commercial vehicle site in the southwest.

“The fortnightly sale programme will bring a new and exciting dynamic to the van, truck and plant auction world, and we’ve lined up a brilliant first sale with almost 50 vendors selling over 600 units on the day. We’re all really excited to welcome buyers online and on site on 24 October, and to launch our event-style sale.”

Rob Atkinson, director of HGV and Industrial for Manheim said: “We can’t wait to bring back live lane auctions for our trucks and plant machinery. Our new sales event programme gives buyers the opportunity to view the stock they’re bidding for on site, before returning for the physical sale, or using our trusted Simulcast platform to bid at a location most convenient for them. It’s a true multi-route to market, and the first of its kind in the UK.

“Over the last year, we’ve seen truck volumes and customer interest grow significantly, and we’re excited to officially open our dedicated drive-through auction site to continue demonstrating that Manheim Auction Services continues to lead the market.”
