The family-run business, Manchetts Group Holdings has expanded its HGV workshops through the acquisition of MAN Sleaford. The company provides vehicle servicing, repair and roadside recovery services catered to customers with cars, LCVs and HGVs.

Manchetts Group is a Cambridgeshire top 100 company and has sites across the county, Suffolk and Lincolnshire. Its latest expansion marks its second business venture into Lincolnshire. This is part of a wider plan to continue to improve its service offering along the A1 corridor. The new HGV workshops are the latest in a line of acquisitions which most recently include a site in Peterborough which joined the group in 2020.

Across Peterborough, Spalding and Newmarket, Manchetts Group runs MAN workshops to support customers in minimising downtime and getting vehicles back on the road as quickly and safely as possible.

To celebrate MAN Sleaford joining the Manchetts Group, the group director Robert Manchett with Peterborough lead Peter Bradshaw and Newmarket lead Pete Williams, met with Sleaford lead Aaron Woods and his team.

Founded in 1961 in Burwell, the firm was originally a village petrol station and workshop. Six people were employed to manage this site and since then the group has grown to employ almost 150 staff across several sites. As well as aftersales services, Manchetts Vehicle Sales operates franchises for MAN UK Truck and Bus, Isuzu Truck and Isuzu 4x4. Vehicles of all make and model are also sold through the company’s used vehicle sales.

The new Sleaford site will offer van, truck, bus and coach service and repairs as well as tachograph calibration, service and repair. MOTs for good vehicles from 3 to 3.5-tonnes will be available. The centre can also support operators with ABS/EBS diagnostics and repairs, engine management and repairs, gearbox repairs and electrical maintenance. The new location is open to new and existing customers.
