Gary Hunt has been appointed as Fruehauf’s business development manager. After 13 years at Weightlifter Bodies, Hunt moves to Fruehauf to be an instrumental part of the company’s expansion goals for 2024. In previous roles he held the job of area sales manager which involved supplying tipping trailers and rigid tipping bodies to customers across England, Scotland and Ireland.
Hunt said: “I’m excited to join Fruehauf amid such a busy period of growth for the company. Meeting the evolving needs of our customers is key to the role. I look forward to supplying them with the best trailers in the industry, alongside maintaining the exceptional service our clients are accustomed to.”
The position will involve taking care of existing Fruehauf accounts as well as generating new business across the Midlands and the north of England. To increase trailer sales across the UK, Hunt will work closely with national technical sales manager, Karl Spooner and his team. In July of this year Spooner was appointed to this role after previously working as a business development manager for just over a year.
Fruehauf managing director, Steven Cairns, said: “Gary’s strong industry knowledge and sales experience will be invaluable to the business as we continue to step up the manufacturing of our high-spec trailers at our Grantham facility.”
This 73-acre site manufactures products including sloper smoothsider trailers and step frame bathtub tippers. The company also creates specialist units thanks to its in-house engineering, fabrication and livery application facilities.
Fruehauf was acquired by MV Commercial in 2021 to bring the company out of administration, saving 120 jobs in the process. Its Grantham site has received investment over a three-year period to modernise the facilities to lead Fruehauf into a prosperous future under new ownership. Since the takeover there’s been a number of new appointments with Hunt’s role announcement rounding out a year of change at Fruehauf.
