Bespoke new and used truck dealer Mac’s Truck Sales has announced its new Access Spec body. The design features what is claimed to be the shallowest loading angle in the industry to make it easy to load any equipment onto the back of the truck. City Hire ordered the first two Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2532 26-tonne 6x2 units equipped with the Access Spec body.

Technical director, Andy Hall, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be launching our latest Mac’s Access Spec body into the market, apparently I’m told it’s already been making quite a stir with multiple envious customers calling us after seeing City Hire group had taken the first two units.”

The new body comes after the Huddersfield-based family-run business has worked with operators over the years to understand the specific requirements needed to make daily operations run as smoothly as possible. Access Spec features 13-tonne lashing rings every 500mm, non-slip strapping points underneath the rave, pull out walkways for wider loads with side protection and fall arrest and hydraulic stabiliser jacks.

The body uses 2mm thick 304 stainless steel and 3mm chain trays at the front, the headboard and side raves are galvanised and the winch and headboard has rubberised protection. Marine grade cables are used on the ramps to ensure they are hard wearing and durable over time. This spec allows for a 14-tonne payload on six-wheelers.

Hall added: “Achieving the lowest load angle in the industry is something all the team of engineers here are proud of, for our customers, it makes a huge difference to the ease of loading, especially on the equipment that comes with flat wheels for indoor use. This paired with our new Mac’s gridlock flooring along the full length of the body provides the ultimate level of grip when compared to competitors wooden floors, making loading an absolute cinch.”
