Multi-Axle has acquired a Renault Trucks C 6x4 heavy haulage tractor.
Commenting on the 120-tonner, which was supplied by Simon Bailey at RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV) and will be used to move abnormal loads such as bridge sections, company owner Dan Teasdale said: “Keeping up with the demand of transporting very heavy goods is vital. My previous truck was a Renault, and I was very impressed with its performance. It is what made me go for the same brand again.”
He explained that the truck was not “off-the-shelf”, adding: “It comes with a longer than normal chassis, with increased axle loading. Additional items include a fifth wheel adaptation for better and more suitable manoeuvrability assists.”
The truck also features emergency braking and brake balancing systems between the tractor unit and the trailer, both of which were supplied as standard, plus an additional reinforced parking brake.
Teasdale opted for the driver comfort pack, which includes a 24-litre fridge, leather steering wheel, enhanced mattress and comfort seat.
“Being comfortable when on the road for a long time, does go a long way,” he told us. “Being able to store all the creature comforts in the cab safely and securely, improves the well-being and the performance of our drivers”.
The truck has been finished in the Nottingham-based haulier’s distinctive red, white and blue livery, which was applied in the paint booth at RHCV’s Nottingham site.
Teasdale praised both Renault Trucks, and the service received from the dealership. “I have always felt very well looked after by RHCV. The level of service is top-notch. I wish other heavy hauliers would try the Renault brand; they would be surprised at what they can do,” he said.
