Keltruck has supplied Hill & Smith Barriers with two new Scania G-series on a seven-year contract hire agreement. This includes full maintenance and repair contracts including coverage for the trailers these trucks are paired with which will be taken care of at Keltruck Willenhall.
Commenting on the 420G 6x2 rigid drawbar and the 500G Super tractor, Darrell Simner, transport manager at Hill & Smith Barriers, said: "We’ve rebranded our organisation as a whole under Hill & Smith Infrastructure and wanted to get consistency across the business. We have two Scania vehicles in our fleet at Bilston and a mixed fleet of 30 across the business. Keltruck’s sales team has been great and did everything we asked. We use Willenhall depot from a service point of view, and cannot fault their efforts.”
The company provides temporary and permanent vehicle restraint systems and hostile vehicle mitigation solutions. The drawbar configuration will be used for urban and distribution jobs. To enable both vehicles to deliver crash barriers to live road and motorway depots they are fitted with Fassi hydraulic loaders.
Tony Biddlestone, Keltruck account manager, said: "I was delighted to supply these new vehicles to Hill & Smith Barriers in their show-stopping new livery. The Scania brand continues to be relied upon by this international business and Keltruck have maintained a great relationship with Hill & Smith Barriers from a sales and aftersales perspective for a quarter of a century. That’s a lot to be proud of.”
Keltruck has been supplying trucks to Hill & Smith Barriers for 25 years. Founded in 1983, Europe's largest independent Scania distributor serves customers in the Midlands and South Wales across 18 locations.
This year Hill & Smith Barriers celebrates its 200th anniversary. Before diversifying into modern barrier solutions, the company provided ironwork, ornamental fencing and gates to the likes of Queen Victoria, the Royal House of Siam and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. In 1969 the group was listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Scania will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo, which takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh between 4-6 June. Registrations are now open, so book your free place now!
