A truck driver has pleaded not guilty following the collapse of a pedestrian bridge over the M20 in Kent last year.

Alan Austen, of Darlington, pleaded not guilty to two counts of dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving at Maidstone Crown Court last week.

The road was closed for more that 24 hours after a digger that was being transported by an HGV collided with the bridge between junctions 4 and 3 of the London-bound carriageway on 27 August.

A trial date has been set for February 2018.
