DVSA updates its MoT manual

The DVSA has updated its inspection manual for HGVs with changes clarifying rules regarding the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and emissions.

Changes include:
. the addition of an applicable date to MIL lamp testing;
. clarification of the MIL symbol to be used when carrying out the assessment; and
. clarification of emissions testing where more than one plate value is shown on a vehicle.

The manual is relevant for anyone who undertakes MoT testing and maintenance and is available from the DVSA website.
