Law firm Freeman & Co, which was founded by celebrity motoring lawyer ‘Mr Loophole’, has launched a specialist road haulage division.
Freeman & Co Haulage Solicitors will be headed by Nick Freeman (pictured), who was nicknamed Mr Loophole due to his reputation for acting on behalf of celebrities accused of motoring offences.
It plans to advise and represent O-licence holders at public inquiries and in DVSA prosecutions, defend drivers in driver conduct hearings in front of the traffic commissioner, conduct compliance system audits, and assist with O-licence applications.
Freeman said it will act on behalf of a variety of operations, from sole traders with a few vehicles to companies with large fleets.
He said: “This is a heavily regulated industry and consequently hauliers can often find themselves answering charges in the criminal courts or facing regulatory action at a public inquiry before the traffic commissioner.
“Not only will our clients have the best possible chance of obtaining or retaining their operator licence, but the service will also ensure that they have the robust compliance management systems in place to avoid future regulatory action."
