Northamptonshire police said they were continuing to investigate the theft of £1m worth of adult toys from a lorry in a layby in September.

The incident happened on Wednesday 18 September between 1am and 6.30am on the A43, between the A14 and Broughton village near Kettering.

The lorry had travelled from Felixstowe and the driver had parked up in the layby for the night before taking the freight to sex toy manufacturer Rocks Off in Kettering.

However, the trailer was broken into and £1m worth of goods were stolen.

Gary Elliott, Rocks Off director said: “We have been shipping and manufacturing products for over 18 years and never have we ever experienced a theft of this kind in our trading history.

“Some of the products were bound for the USA and the packing is bespoke to our customer so clearly these products can be identified if they were to become available or offered in the UK.

“Clearly we still have our obligations to meet our customers’ orders and requirements, so we have had to go back into production and advise our customers of the situation.

“All of our customers have been extremely supportive in what has been a very difficult situation.”

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
