A County Antrim-based haulier has been fined a total of £600 after a driver committed drivers’ hours and tachograph offences.
TST Transport, based in Corkey, Ballymena, was fined £150 for each of two offences of the driver failing to record data on 7 and 27 January 2016, and £150 for two counts of the driver failing to take sufficient daily rest.
The hearing at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court on 25 January also saw the operator, which holds an O-licence for 15 vehicles and 20 trailers, ordered to pay cost of £19 and a £15 offender levy.
The offences were discovered during a compliance check of tachograph and drivers’ hours records by Driver and Vehicle Agency officers at Larne Harbour in February 2016.
