SAGA Truck and Van set to acquire Motus Truck & Van

The Motus Group has announced it has agreed to sell Motus Truck & Van to SAGA Truck and Van. Motus Truck & Van is responsible for Mercedes-Benz trucks, Mercedes-Benz vans and FUSO vehicles across its seven locations. Owned by the French company RCM, SAGA operates a dealer network across western Europe focusing on Mercedes-Benz trucks, vans and FUSO  prodpucts.

SAGA expanded into the UK with the earlier acquisition of Sparshatt Truck and Van. The company has an existing network of five locations in Sittingbourne, Dartford, Ashford and Tonbridge. The new acquisition expands SAGA’s reach into Essex, Hertfordshire and East Anglia. 

Over the next three months the deal between SAGA and Motus Group will be ironed out with sale conditions relating to property transfers due to be sorted. Motus Truck & Van will continue to operate as normal until the sale conditions are met and the deal is finalised at which time another announcement is due to be made. 

The sale will give the Motus Group greater opportunity to focus on Motus Commercials, its DAF dealer network. Motus Vehicle Solutions recently acquired Aftercare Response to bolster its breakdown assistance, tail lift maintenance, and emergency repairs services.
