Boroughbridge Motors opens its own ATF

Boroughbridge Motors - part of temperature controlled storage and distribution business Reed Boardall - has opened an ATF. The company worked with local Volvo dealer Crossroads Truck and Bus to create the facility at its Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire site which will provide MoT testing for the 180-strong Reed Boardall fleet.Reed Boardall said the move made sense following the closure of the Wetherby testing facility.

LCV price stability boosts confidence

Overall LCV year-on-year residual values have stabilised throughout the first five months of 2015 at £4,599, representing the largest period of stability since November 2012, according to Shoreham Vehicle Auctions.The organisation says average year-on-year prices have fluctuated just 6.6% throughout the year so far, compared with prices in the same period in 2014.This compares favourably with the last three years, where average prices have fluctuated by up to a fifth year-on-year.

Model gift for retiring MAN manager Tom

Tom Richards (pictured right) was presented with a model truck to mark his retirement from MAN after 27 years of service.The Network Operations Manager from Middlewich, Cheshire, served the company since 1988, although before 2000 he was an ERF employee.In his time with the firm the 65-year-old worked in various roles, including Warranty Manager and Internal Auditor.

Ryder relocates to new premises in Northampton

Ryder has moved to a new site in Northampton following significant increases in demand for its truck and trailer rental, contract hire and vehicle maintenance services in the area.The company, which has been in the town for more than ten years, has relocated to a larger facility in the Swan Valley.Ryder recently ordered more than 300 Euro-6 tractors units as well as a large number of purpose-built refrigerated trailers which it hopes will be snapped up by food distribution businesses in the East Midlands.

Intercounty opens new Mercedes-Benz dealership in Boston

Mercedes-Benz dealer Intercounty Truck & Van has opened a new depot on the outskirts of Boston, Lincolnshire. The multi-million pound facility is on a three-acre site at Old Station Yard, Sutterton, on the junction of the busy A16 and A17. It includes a smart reception area, with sales and administration staff working from offices above. The workshop is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, supported by a fully stocked parts department.

Volvo Group announce new UK organisation

Volvo Group Trucks UK & Ireland has announced a comprehensive reorganisation at its head office in Warwick which will bring together and merge the current Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks support functions.In a move aimed at strengthening the business and streamlining operations there will be a new, Renault and Volvo truck sales, aftermarket and marketing organisation serving dealer networks and customers in the UK and Ireland.

Used Truck of the week is this rare Scania Longline V8 belonging to West Pennine Trucks' used sales.The precursor to the Longline - the  eXc - was launched in 2002 at the IAA Show at Hanover.It was essentially a modified 4-series with the cab extended by 1300 mm allowing extra space for a full-size bed, armchair, a kitchenette, storage, flat-screen TV-set and advanced sound system.
