Communications services provider KCOM has partnered with VisionTrack to equip its fleet with camera and safety technology for the next five years. KCOM’s fleet of 180 vehicles will be fitted with front and rear facing cameras to improve driver visibility.
The cameras are integrated with ADAS features to minimise the chance of an accident. The system will also be supported by VisionTrack’s artificial intelligence (AI) programme NARA which stands for notification, analysis and risk assessment. This evaluates video footage to remove false positives, monitor driver behaviour and streamline any insurance claims.
Matt Munford, fleet manager at KCOM, said: “We’re delighted to be establishing our partnership with VisionTrack, a true leader in their field, following a comprehensive review process. We were impressed with the team’s approach to our current challenges and their technology speaks for itself. Our drivers will benefit from the in-cab warnings on the ADAS events and having access to NARA will allow us to review only the meaningful videos so we can spend more time on the areas that will help us keep our drivers safe."
John Crawford, head of strategic accounts at VisionTrack, added: “We’d like to welcome KCOM and are looking forward to working with the team to help them meet their road risk strategy. Our aim is to always help fleets improve driving behaviours and general best practice, which will ultimately help keep our roads safer and save lives.”
VisionTrack specialises in commercial fleet safety with its suite of camera solutions supported by AI analysis. Its NARA software is device agnostic so it can be connected with existing compatible technology. The programme reduces the number of people hours needed to review events to just minutes by sifting through false positives and only highlighting priority situations. This significantly reduces the amount of time fleet managers spend reviewing video footage whilst still maintaining high levels of safety and compliance.
