In a move to standardise its trailer fleet, Kinaxia Logistics has ordered 205 bespoke curtainsiders from Tiger Trailers. The postless units are 4.5m tall and fitted with safety features such as the Axscend TrailerMaster tracking system. This provides status updates, location and notifies the driver of any brake or tyre issues.

The trailers also feature the Axscend electronic brake performance monitoring system for remote brake information. Accompanying these safety systems is the Maple Fleet Services SafeConnect. This protects persons and property around the trailer during uncoupling by ensuring the trailer brakes are applied and not accidentally released in the process.

James Hathaway, Kinaxia’s group fleet manager, said: “We are upgrading and standardising our equipment across the group to meet the needs of our customers. These new high-spec Tiger trailers ensure maximum safety, compliance and efficiency and have been very well-received by our team and our clients.”

Steve Pollock, business development director at Tiger Trailers, said: “Our sales, design and engineering teams worked closely with Kinaxia and other suppliers to ensure the new curtainsiders were manufactured with the customer’s bespoke specifications and features. It’s been a pleasure collaborating with James and others at Kinaxia, and we look forward to supporting them going forward.”

Headquartered in Macclesfield, Kinaxia has a fleet of more than 850 vehicles which transport goods for sectors including retail, leisure, manufacturing and food and drink. Alongside the haulage side of the business, the group has 2.7 million sq ft of warehouse facilities across the country. This arm offers contract packing, e-fulfilment, returns management, storage services and complete distribution.

Tiger Trailers is just down the road in Winsford, Cheshire, where it manufactures trailers and bodywork for rigid trucks. The company’s range includes curtainsiders, box vans, specialist vehicles, advanced moving double deck trailers and demountable bodies that can be swapped onto different vehicles.
