Wisbech-based Bretts Transport has taken delivery of 30 2.9m internal curtainsided trailers from Lawrence David. The new units bolster its 160-strong fleet and contribute to its multi-year fleet replacement strategy. This £850,000 investment is the third influx of trailers in recent years to keep the fleet fresh. The trailers will be mated to Bretts Transport’s mixed fleet of 90 Scania and Volvo tractor units.
Simon Brett, managing director at Bretts Transport said: “Our long-lasting relationship with Lawrence David, which was developed initially by my father over 40 years ago, is a testament to their strong product offering and their premium service.
“Due to our operational requirements, acquiring durable trailers is fundamental to offering an optimal service to customers while also maintaining a strong safety record and contributing to fuel efficiency. Equally as our drivers will be operating them day in, day out, offering an ergonomic working environment that enables safe and efficient delivery of their cargo is vital.
“This is primarily why Lawrence David has been our supplier of choice over the decades as their attention to detail in the build process and quality of manufacture is far superior to others currently operating within the marketplace. Once we come to refresh our fleet years down the line the trailers will also have a strong re-sale value as they are built to last, which is an added benefit.”
Andy Dodge, managing director at Lawrence David said: “We were delighted to provide Bretts Transport’s 30 internal curtainsided trailers in order to support their ongoing fleet replacement programme.
“The partnership built with Bretts over the decades is something that we’re immensely proud of at Lawrence David. We have developed a fundamental understanding of their business and what they need and as such can work within their parameters seamlessly. We are pleased to once again work with Bretts on their latest order and look forward to continuing our proud association with the business in the years to come.”
