WMS Service Centre & Commercial Vehicles is now an authorised Isuzu Truck repairer based in Guernsey. The long-established company recently moved its facilities to a refurbished 1.5-acre site. The new location provides ample workshop space for repair and maintenance requirements for light and heavy commercial vehicles.
The workshop features six ramps for light vehicles and two sets of column lifts to cater for medium and heavy trucks. There’s also potential to extend to service more vehicles at the same time. The previous workshop covered 4,000 sq ft so the move has seen the WMS team double with more technicians and office staff joining the firm whilst maintaining support for its three apprentices.
Richard Le Poidevin, managing director of WMS, said: “When Rabeys Commercial Vehicles closed its doors in early 2023, we became one of the few remaining businesses with the capabilities to service and maintain commercial vehicles on Guernsey. With plenty of Isuzu Truck operators looking for reliable support, we took the opportunity to move into their vacated site.
“We have worked on Isuzu trucks for years, but our previous location was tight for space, and we were having to order parts from a dealership on the mainland, which was struggling to keep up with our demand. Becoming an authorised repairer was the next logical step, and means we now have a direct link for ordering parts straight from the manufacturer.”
Tim Hicks, head of operations for Isuzu Truck UK, said: “It is fantastic to have such a dedicated team on board to support our customer base in Guernsey. WMS has an outstanding reputation on the island, and now as part of our network – with direct access to all of our aftersales systems, parts and technician training school – they will be able to deliver even greater level of customer service.”
