AccessXL becomes UK distributor for Palfinger tail-lifts

After acquiring the rights to build and sell Palfinger V-lift products, AccessXL is also now the UK distributor for Palfinger chassis-mounted tail lifts. The deal means that alongside AccessXL’s current product range, the lifting solutions specialist will be able to sell more than 40 models with 170 model configurations from the Palfinger range. 

Cantilever, retractable and foldable tail lifts will be available to suit the needs of operators across several industries including transport and logistics, food and beverage, municipalities and rescue services. 

AccessXL is part of the XL Global Group and its CEO, Colin Laird, said: “We are delighted to be making this exciting announcement. The bringing together of these premier brands enables us to provide an unbeatable choice of high quality, British-sourced tail lifts for virtually all commercial vehicle operators across multiple sectors throughout the UK.”

Going forward, Palfinger UK sales will be handled by AccessXL. Aftersales care and distribution will be combined into the AccessXL brand to offer customers national coverage. Manufacturing will be based at AccessXL’s Forfar plant in Scotland. 

Palfinger is an Austrian company so bringing manufacturing to the UK is designed to improve supply chain and delivery times by cutting out import and export delays. For existing customers, warranty and service contracts will continue through the AccessXL warranty team.

Palfinger was founded more than 90 years ago and specialises in loading cranes and other lifting equipment for commercial vehicles. Its tail lift product line was introduced around 50 years ago to complement the company’s range of cranes and access platforms. 

AccessXL’s core product range of tail lifts includes column, retractable, multi-deck, refuse and ambulance lifts.
