PJH has taken delivery of 14 DAF XF tractor units and 20 new 7.5-tonne DAF LF box trucks.
The multi-million pound, multi-year deal is a contract-hire agreement with Asset Alliance Group to replace existing vehicles on the fleet. The contract also includes repair and maintenance coverage.
Shaun Berry, national transport manager at PJH, said: “Our vehicle fleet has grown by 30% in just over three years. Having vehicles on contract hire means we are in control of our monthly overheads, knowing the fleet is always maintained to the highest standards.”
Supplied by Stuart Sadler, business development manager for the Midlands at Asset Alliance Group, PJH typically replaces 30 to 40 vehicles annually. This ensures its fleet is always up to date and its team of 185 drivers have the best working environments. So far, 100 of PJH’s fleet of 130 vehicles have been supplied by Asset Alliance Group.
Berry added: “We have built a strong rapport with Stuart and always receive first-class service from the business. They are competitive on price and it’s a great overall package. Working with Asset Alliance Group makes my life easier, affording time to focus my energies where they’re needed.”
PJH and Asset Alliance first started working together in 2018. Later this year Asset Alliance will also supply PJH with 21 MAN TGE panel vans. PJH is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of bathrooms, appliances, sinks and taps. The company completes more than 3000 store and home deliveries for B&Q on a weekly basis. Its products are also supplied to independent retailers, builders merchants and house builders. PJH is headquartered in Bolton and has other distribution centres in Glasgow, Cannock, Bristol and Enfield in London.
Asset Alliance Group is based in Wolverhampton with five locations across the UK. The group offers commercial vehicle contract hire, operating lease, finance lease or hire purchase solutions.
