The temperature-controlled logistics company, Chiltern Distribution, has taken delivery of two new Renault Trucks T High 520 6x2 pusher tractor units. The additions to Chiltern’s fleet of 50 vehicles are the first Renaults to feature on the fleet. Supplied by RH Commercial Vehicles on a five year contract hire agreement, the deal includes full repair and maintenance.

Andy Gibson, fleet manager, said: “The demonstrator vehicle we tested was the turning point towards the Renault Trucks brand. We had it for two weeks and found the fuel economy outstanding. We even tried to stitch it up by sending it on different routes but the results were incredible. Fuel is a major factor in our expenses, so after seeing such a positive fuel economy result, adding the two trucks to the fleet was the best decision to increase fleet efficiency.”

The T High tractors are fitted with 13-litre engines with maximum torque available up to 1400rpm. Chiltern opted for extra features in the cab to improve driver comfort. The vehicles have luxury heated and ventilated driver’s seats, memory foam mattress toppers, 40-litre fridges and space for either a microwave or coffee machine.

Brian Sagaseta, managing director, said: “We have received nothing but positive feedback from our drivers. They find them incredibly comfortable, easy to handle, and feel confident on the road. With impressive fuel economy, these trucks prove to be a great all-round choice for our business needs.

“This echoes the seamless experience we received from RH Commercial Vehicles. The communication has been faultless and we received our vehicles on time with any minor issues resolved promptly and correctly”

RH Commercials is a Renault Truck and Isuzu Truck dealer based in the Midlands with eight locations in the region. Across its network, RH Commercials offers truck servicing and repairs, LCV servicing and repairs, 24/7 breakdown assistance, used truck sales and a tachograph centre.
