TruckCharge has been launched by Daimler Truck as a brand which brings together the company’s electric infrastructure and electric truck charging solutions. This covers existing and future products, such as consulting, hardware and digital services. TruckCharge is aimed at fleet operators as well as industrial companies that run owned or outsourced fleets. Daimler recognises the vast majority of fleets include a mix of manufacturers so TruckCharge is available regardless of the truck brand. TruckCharge is set to be officially launched at the IAA Transportation in Hanover in September.
Karin Rådström, CEO Mercedes-Benz Trucks: “We want to make e-mobility simple and profitable for our customers – also beyond the purchase of electric trucks. With TruckCharge, we are now bundling our range of solutions under one brand and plan to continuously expand the portfolio.”
TruckCharge’s consulting services will offer fleet operators a holistic view of how electric trucks fit into their business. This extends to planning, building and designing depot-specific charging infrastructure and grid connections. The team can also support operators in identifying relevant public funding opportunities to support vehicle purchases and infrastructure installations.
Customers can purchase depot charging packages through Daimler Truck dealerships which come with consulting, hardware and technical services along with access to Daimler Truck financial services. This can be installed by qualified partners and Daimler Truck is working in collaboration with Alpitronic on the charging stations.
On the industrial side of things, Daimler is keen to promote carbon-neutral supply chains with easy access to electric vehicle charging. Consulting services for these applications are tailored to working with customers to establish which routes can be electrified. From here, optimum routes can be created to tie in with new and existing charging points to form customised solutions for industry and transport applications. The first customer for this was Mercedes-Benz Group AG in cooperation with Große-Vehne as the logistics partner.
