The Iveco Group and Ford Trucks have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore collaboration on new cabins for heavy duty vehicles. The non-binding understanding is the first stage in establishing how the two companies could potentially work together. This announcement focuses on the cabin regarding new products and technologies on a component and system level.
During the signing Gerrit Marx, CEO of Iveco Group; Luca Sra, president of the truck business unit at Iveco Group; Haydar Yenigün, president of Koç Holding Automotive Group; Güven Özyurt, general manager of Ford Otosan and Emrah Duman, vice president of Ford Trucks were in attendance.
The partnership would consider solutions to meet the EU Direct Vision Standard and externally assess opportunities to improve aerodynamic performance. These cabin design priorities would ensure the companies create a cabin that focuses on safety and efficiency. This is part of both Ford Trucks and the Iveco Group’s wider sustainability targets to improve the fuel efficiency of their vehicles, hence reducing CO2 emissions.
