Scottish commercial laundry and textile rental company, Fishers Laundry Services has taken delivery of 25 trucks from Fraikin. The mix includes one 7.5-tonne truck and 24 15-tonne DAF rigids to update the fleet. The vehicles are fitted with Fraikin’s smart fleet monitoring and maintenance portal as well as 360 degree cameras.
Lucy Renaut, group finance director at Fishers, said: “Fraikin is still a relatively new supplier to our business. The partnership we have formed enables us to deliver our freshly laundered linen, towels and garments directly to our customers. Fraikin’s efforts to place new vehicle orders promptly have allowed us to maintain our typical renewal timeline and, more importantly, keep our focus entirely on our core business activities.”
The vehicles are on a contract hire agreement which includes repair and maintenance works and access to 24/7 support. The smart monitoring features allow transport managers to track distances travelled, fuel efficiency and driver behaviour. The team can also view predictive maintenance scheduling and breakdown and repair data.
John Cooper, business development manager at Fraikin, said: “It is great to see our strong supplier relationships pay dividends for Fishers, helping us to deliver these new units into service quickly. We’re excited about the opportunities to grow our relationship further over the years ahead.”
The new rigids will be put to work seven days a week, moving laundry to and from Fishers’ sites in Coatbridge, Livingston, Newcastle, Perth and Cupar. The company’s clients include hospitality, industry, healthcare and cleanroom businesses. An average week for Fishers sees the team process up to two million items.
Fraikin comes under the Fraikin Group which is the largest commercial vehicle fleet services company in Europe. Originally founded in France, the company now also operates across Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK.
