TIP’s workshop network has achieved IRTE workshop accreditation. The truck and trailer hire company offers maintenance and associated services to its customers across the UK and Ireland. This accreditation is valid for three years and was granted by the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (ITRE). The organisation is a professional body for road transport which is part of the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE).
Mark Carlin, fleet and engineering director at TIP, said: "We are thrilled to have our workshops recognised with the IRTE workshop accreditation. This achievement confirms our dedication to excellence and bolsters our commitment to providing peace of mind to operators who rely on our services in maintaining their assets."
The workshops were subject to numerous inspections over several weeks to establish their eligibility for the IRTE workshop accreditation. Official auditors conducted independent reviews of workshop standards, procedures and practices. The inspections evaluated workshop cleanliness, tooling, record keeping, document compliance and MOT pass rates. The thorough inspections ensure TIP’s workshops meet the IRTE standard for best practice across its sites.
The company was recognised for its continuous mechanic training programmes covering the latest vehicle technology for trucks and trailers. Quality control was a strong area within the workshops and a keen focus on health and safety was also noted.
TIP’s workshops are now listed on IRTE’s workshop accreditation register. This provides operators with visibility on accredited maintenance providers' services, facilities, test pass rates, HSE notices and more.
Founded in 1968, TIP is a leasing, rental and equipment services provider. The company operates across Europe and Canada. Its services include maintenance, breakdown assistance, damage protection and asset tracking solutions. TIP also helps operators to achieve DVSA earned recognition through a package which encompasses maintenance and repair documentation, data input, maintenance KPI monitoring and support with any other areas that can impact the status of this scheme.
