Patrick Farbrace has been appointed as Iveco’s new truck business line director. Following a seven year stint at MAN Truck and Bus as a regional sales manager, Farbrace joins Iveco with extensive experience in the truck industry including time at the Dawsongroup, and Schmitz Cargobull. The next stage in his 25-year career in the truck sector will be heading up the truck business side of Iveco in the UK.
Following the successful launch of the Iveco S-Way in 2019, Farbrace will be involved in supporting Iveco to grow its market share in the UK tractor unit segment. This also includes an increasing demand for trucks that run on national gas with the S-Way CNG and LNG range.
As we move towards net zero, Iveco has a long term multi-energy decarbonisation strategy which includes the continued development of bio-methane, battery electric trucks and hydrogen fuel cell technology. Iveco has six manufacturing plants and seven research and development centres supporting the production and next generations of its light, medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles.
Farbrace said: "I’m very excited at joining Iveco at a time when its sales and market share continue to grow. It has a strong diesel and gas truck range backed by an experienced dealer network. As operators continue their journey towards net zero, the brand remains at the forefront of zero-emission fuels. I am looking forward to getting out into the network and meeting our customers and dealers.”
Vincenzo Nicolo, Iveco UK & Ireland’s business director, said: “We would like to welcome Patrick to the team. He has a wide range of experience within the truck sector and we look forward to him helping our brand continue to thrive in the UK and Ireland.”
Farbrace replaces Gareth Lumsdaine who held the role for four years before moving on to JCB in August where he is now the head of distribution development.
