Brigade Electronics has introduced a new product to its artificial intelligence range.
Its AI connected dashcam adds to the company’s portfolio of safety systems. The windscreen-mounted dashcam uses a dual camera system to evaluate the road ahead and the driver. Functionality includes AI enabled warnings, high-definition video capture of incidents and driver behaviour monitoring.
AI technology identifies hazardous scenarios and audibly warns the driver. Examples of events the system would flag could be a risk of collision with a vehicle ahead or another vehicle changing lanes without signalling. Audio cues are designed so the driver can immediately act when they hear the alert.
Alongside road monitoring, the dashcam can also see inside the vehicle. This camera can identify drivers using mobile phones, smoking, or not paying adequate attention to the road. Fleet managers then receive alerts and video footage of these types of incidents. This can be used to identify bad habits and work with drivers to provide additional training where necessary to improve fleet safety.
Peter Squire, MD at Brigade Electronics in the UK, said: “Artificial intelligence is revolutionising safety for fleet operators and drivers. Our AI Connected Dashcams work in conjunction with our Brigade Video Telematics - a fully managed service that allows users to receive event alerts and video clips from the dashcam while being able to live stream footage in real time and download past data. This means fleets can be managed remotely and allows drivers to make more informed decisions that support their work and enhances safety for all.”
Brigade has been supplying customers with vehicle safety equipment since 1976. The company brought to market the first reversing alarm in Europe, now it has a range of products including 360-degree camera systems, camera monitor systems, White Sound reversing alarms, obstacle detection sensors, obstacle detection radar and digital recorders.
- Brigade will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo, which takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh between 4-6 June. Registrations are now open, so book your free place now!
