Andrew Scott has been appointed as product director at TVS Interfleet. Following on from his three years at Renault Trucks as the head of electric mobility and product development, Scott brings his expertise in decarbonising to the bodybuilding sector. His new role will oversee the product plan for TVS group companies including McPhee Mixers, Wilcox Tippers, Priden Engineering, SB components and Purpose Bodies.

Together with Renault Trucks, McPhee Mixers built the UK’s first electric concrete mixer. Scott said: “I was hugely impressed with the passion and expertise of the team at TVS in developing the e-mixer, and the company’s vision of how bodybuilders could play a key role in the decarbonisation of the transport sector. To be given the opportunity to work within TVS alongside many who share that ambition makes this new role particularly exciting.

“While I will continue to lead on decarbonisation, I’m excited by the wider product development opportunities across the TVS product ranges. We’ve already seen some of the safety benefits identified through the e-mixer project applied to ICE vehicles, and I’m sure there are many more new innovations to explore in the future.”

Kevin Walker, chief operating officer for TVS Interfleet added: “We’re delighted to welcome Andrew to TVS. As well as ensuring TVS continues to play a key part with our customers in the decarbonisation of the sector we’re looking forward to the insight and direction he can provide to the product plans for all the TVS Group companies.”

In addition to e-mixers TVS has made bodies for electric truck fleets across the UK, including IKEAs rigids. Scott moved to his new position from 1st February. In 2023 he was recognised as one of Motor Transport's 'Decarbonisation Power Players'. The award highlighted 25 individuals playing the greatest part in decarbonising the UK transport sector.
