The EnduMile LHT long-haul trailer tyre from Apollo Tyres is now available across Europe in a new size. The 385/55 R22.5 product is suited to long haul operations to improve fuel efficiency. It’s rated ‘A’ for rolling resistance and noise and is designed to be retreaded to give the tyre a second life. All of this should save operators money and improve their sustainability credentials over time.
Yves Pouliquen, group head of sales and marketing at Apollo Tyres Europe, said: “We’ve seen strong demand for our first LHT product since it was launched last year, and we look forward to building on that momentum with this new size option. The expanding EnduMile range represents our ongoing commitment to innovation and performance, and we will continue to invest in products tailored to the needs of the long-haul sector.”
This is Apollo’s most fuel-efficient truck tyre, offering operators better fuel economy with sufficiently maintained tyres. Noise pollution and road noise inside the vehicle is reduced with a sound output of 70dB from the tyres as tested. As well as minimising noise, the tread pattern was designed for trailer axles to improve roadholding performance. A large contact patch helps to distribute pressure and weight so the tyre wears evenly and lasts longer.
Apollo has created a compound for this tyre range that delivers low rolling resistance but maintains wet grip. This mixture also has better heat management characteristics to ensure performance and durability remain unchanged during long periods of use. Inside, the carcass is strong to improve the ability to retread the tyre once the tread has worn down.
EnduMile LHT was developed in the Netherlands and is now in production at Apollo’s facility in Hungary. Before bringing the product to market last year, the tyre went through two years of virtual and real-life testing.
