Quantron and Ford Trucks sign letter of intent for hydrogen vehicles

Looking to the future of zero emission vehicles, Quantron and Ford Trucks have announced a letter of intent to produce hydrogen fuel cell trucks based on a Ford F-Max. Quantron Inside technology will be assessed for integration into Ford Trucks’ vehicles.

As a platform provider and specialist in sustainable transportation, Quantron’s technology solutions encompass an e-axle, high-power battery, fuel cell and tank integration and optimised aerodynamics. The company has experience producing battery electric vehicles and has delivered more than 200 vehicles so far. 

Rene Wollmann, CTO of Quantron AG, said: “Our partners want to accelerate their development of fuel cell powered trucks while focusing their own resources on other areas. We are benchmarking the FCEV light vehicle segment up to 7,5t, and in the FCEV heavy-duty segment up to 44t whereas we deliver our uncompromising and unique Quantron Inside technology and components. Our close technical collaboration will contribute to further accelerating the widespread market introduction of fuel cell-electric commercial vehicles."
