Energy drink manufacturer Red Bull has partnered with driver recruitment app Avail to offer free drinks to essential logistics workers throughout the busy festive period.
The gesture aims to recognise the hard work and achivement of hundreds of thousands of HGV drivers throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the past eight months, Red Bull has already provided more than 40,000 cans of the popular fizzy drink to logistics sector workers.
Avail’s technology is used to co-ordinate delivery of Red Bull to key worker drivers.
It is a mobile-based application that connects HGV drivers and haulage firms directly, removing the need to use a traditional recruitment agency.
Avail said this enables businesses to reduce recruitment costs and drivers to earn a better rate.
CEO of Avail, Erin Short, added: “I am over the moon to be working with Red Bull to get free cans delivered to more than 5,000 drivers using our technology. And far beyond this to over 150 companies with a combined driver base of 20k-plus, working with the pallet networks to help distribute.
"We are also working with our growing haulier base to make sure they get some delivered to their offices!
“Red Bull have been so authentic in their efforts to help, it's been brilliant working with them. If I hadn't have highlighted their work, they would have let it go completely unnoticed, which I find very humbling. Hopefully this generosity will not go unnoticed from other brands and they too will recognise and appreciate the impact that keyworkers in the industry hold.”
