Mike Watson Transport (MWT), based in Bordon, Hampshire, has firmly made its mark by effectively implementing a strategic growth strategy in the south of England. This has involved the recruitment of seven additional staff and the procuement of seven new vehicles to service a doubling of their network delivery volume, expanding into part of the PO (Portsmouth) postcode area.
MWT was established over 30 years ago and has gone from strength to strength since being acquired by the Palletline Group in September 2016. The business plans to expand into larger premises later this year, opening up opportunities for additional revenue streams.
Paul Elson, Managing Director of Palletline Logistics, commented: "This year has been challenging for the whole economy; we felt it was important to manage this opportunity effectively and deliver the highest levels of service to the network. Palletline Logistics has emerged as a major contributor to the UK logistics sector in its own right. It is an exciting time for MWT and now we are looking towards continued growth."
Graham Leitch, Group Managing Director of Palletline Ltd, commented "MWT has a firm history in the area as a quality local and national operator with traditional values in service and cooperation. This strategic expansion strengthens our position locally and we are looking forward to providing existing and new customers an enhanced level of service."
